The Rifle Hall is fully insured and licensed for public entertainment but not licensed for alcohol.
The main hall is 60' x 44' with a sprung wooden floor - the largest in the area. The space is flexible: it is ideal for dances, parties, disco and live music; the stage and two lighting bars allow the Hall to be used as a theatre; the soft heritage ‘crystal grey' on the walls is an ideal backdrop for hangings; and the floor space can be used for table displays and stands, public meetings, or conferences. The Hall suits activity groups who don't need specialised gym equipment and the sprung floor, being ‘forgiving', is perfect for older people as well as the young. The venue functions as Halesworth's village hall and can readily host all community events - fairs, race nights, quiz nights, club nights, amongst others.
Entertaining Capacity
Historically The Rifle Hall has accommodated large, formal dinners. However, the kitchen is out of service until the planned renovations are completed so any catering has to be provided for by external caterers, who will have to bring in their own equipment. The servery does not allow for food preparation or storage.
The number of people the hall can accommodate depends on the activity for which it is being hired and the chosen format. For bands and discos with a clear hall, the fire limit is 200. For ballroom dances with some seating at tables, 50 - 60 is a comfortable number. Please contact the bookings manager to discuss your particular requirements.
The Rifle Hall can provide chairs and tables for your event.
Parking & Access
The Co-Op, which is within three minutes walk, will generally agree to clients of The Rifle Hall using the carpark, by previous arrangement if numbers are large. Halesworth has three public car-parks within 10-15 minutes walk. The Rifle Hall itself has no carpark. There is ramped wheelchair access to the Hall through one of the fire doors.
